1. What is the factory size tip for the 00-02 LS Sport/Z24?
2. Would this be a good size to get or is there a better recommendation for aftermarket exhaust?

Anywhere from 2 1/4" to 2.5" will be fine for an exhaust. When you go turbo, it can change alittle.
my 02 ls sport is at 3" stock.
the tip is 3"
but that doesn't mean the whole muffler and exhaust is 3"
of course not, but he asked about the tip not the whole system.
A 4inch oval would look better IMO. Well with that lip kit any way.
