Any one know of a cleaner or product that is good to use to clean headlights?
I have oem sunfire headlights and they have like a film and crap on them that makes them not as clean and clear..... i tried useing like windex etc.... but still cant shake this crusty crap on them, you can scrap it with your finger but does not quite come off, i just thought there might be some sort of cleaner out there.......
Any help would be sweeet
Thanks

There is a product called PlastX that will buff any clear plastic. You can buy it at any local autoparts store

You can run tape over the eyelids to protect them when you sand. Someone also mentioned Mequire's PlastX which is a good product, but it won't help in a situation like yours.
I used the plastX ....And it worked well you could feel all the crap lifting off the lights..I also did the fogs...They looked brand new when I was done..And I have 140 thousand..KM on my 05 Sunfire..So you know the front has had its fair share of road rash..Try the PlastX I think you will be happy...
Soem people says if you wet sand them, you should clear coat them after??? is that true? and then polish em up with plastX or something.
yup. if you dont it will oxidize twice as fast

Someone posted
this video in another thread, so we tried it at our shop. It works surprisingly well.
So sand, polish, clear, polish or polish after only?
and duplicolors Truck & SUV clear coat coat will work fine right?
3M headlight restor kit... cleans them up really well
but you can just sand them too
duplicolors Truck & SUV clear coat will do fine but
polish after you clear coat it or you will get a fish eye effect all over it
3M kit, p/n 38009 like Brandon said, from Oreilly or somewhere similar, $20. Done
