I posted this is in the maint. section but no hits.
I smoked a deer and destroyed the bumper/hood/ passanger fender/ I can handle that stuff pretty easy but it also pushed the crossmember the radiator is mounted to and the actual latch unit for the hood back about two inches...any suggestions on fixing this? or how to bend it back out? and does it matter if my radiator is slightly bent....everything mechanically is still functioning.
Its all about the pain...The Jewelry and Ink are just souvinirs
radiator is upto you...but you can get a new crash support or w/e its called at a junk yard. its held on by 4 bolts. and then just use your old latch if its still functional
How about the steel crossmember? I looked at everything briefly but just become disgusted because my friend actually did all this. I am just at a loss really how to bend that sucker out to close to where it whats so there is some clearence between my throttle body. I am frankly amazed my Z lived through this with basically cosmetic damage. he hit the dear going 60mph+ and it literally FLEW up in the air like 12 ft from the impact.

do you mean like this....the big blue crush support in front? if so, its held on by 4 bolts, 13mm size if i remember correct. the bolts are inside the "tube". you can see the access holes, 2 per side in the front of it
otherwise, if you mean the part up top going across, like over top the radiator...you'd have to weld in a new piece
yeah the top piece over the radiator...I guess good thing a friend owns a welding shop!!

if the rad support is bent that bad you probably want to start looking at your upper frame rails. A deer hit like that prob just tweaked the frame rails. Car is probably wrote.
ShowFire
i hit a deer 3 weeks ago going 50 and got out of it with just a headlight smashed and my pass fender crinkled. about $300 worth of damage.
back in November, I smoked a deer doing 40 and the damn thing rolled around my driver's side, fender/door/rear quarter! I'm still in the process of finding a good door and rear quarter! The body shop quoted me at 4200, and the ins. said it was only worth 3900, so we took the total, with buyback and got 2500 outta the deal, now I'm scraping the money together to get it fixed w/ WW Avenger Kit and SLR Fenders!
Project Resurrection is in full swing!

you can pay a body shop to pull it back out if its only an inch or two. but if its really mangled buy one from a wrecker and have your buddy weld it on.

thats i good idea, i see car/animal collisions all the time. usually the whole front end is tweaked.
i.e. if the hit was offset to the passenger side the front end will be swayed towards the drivers side. it might only be 1/2 an inch, but it will be all hell to fix.
from the sounds of things you should be calling your insurance company.

this plus the body damage is enough to write it off. with the hood latch getting pushed back 2 inches im surprised the air bags didn't deploy.
but your lucky the dear didn't come up through the windshield. at work we have a 2007 cobalt SS/SC that hit a dear, it came over the hood and right through the windshield. pushed the roof back about 8 inches and put the driver in the hospital.
