Hey, I was recently in a acident, bought a new door, and a new upper hinge. NOW my problem is the top part of the door looks like it is sticking out.. I have a 2k+ vehicle, and I used a hinge off a 97 z24, which had a little dimple which I hsaved off so it could fit on mine.. NOW I am wondering, is this the hinge that is the issue, or is it the door ? The door could be slightly bent, or the hinge from a pre 2k could be different as well.. I am unsure.

the hinges and a doors are the same on all 3 gen j-body coupes.
loosen the bolts on the car itself, have a friend push on the top of the door and pull out slightly on the bottom whil you tighten the bolts. if that doesn't work, repeat the proccess on the bolts on the door. you may have do this a couple times
if that doesn't work, then something is bent/warped

i would tape the door in place where it should be. then pull the fender off, take off the hinges, and reposition perfectly. then reinstall everything.
if that dont work, then like Andew said, somethings bent
Did take the fender off and such, I am thinking it is the door now..... Looks like ill be in the market to get a new one...

i'm willing to bet that the door is bent and is a result of someone prying the top of the door open to get the door unlocked or to fish the keys out through the top of the door. OR it damaged by an accident OR a 300lb gorilla.....just a thought

thats what i was thinking, it doesn't take much to bend them, even 1/4 of an inch will make it a nightmare to fix.

Do the Door hinges allow the door to move backward any? I have a problem with the fender being too far back (Close to the door) and it rubbing. Is there slotted holes on the brackets so I can loosen the bolts and move the door back a 1/4" - 1/2"?
dude right there the a-pillar is is damaged, no adjustment right now will help ya out sorry dude
