I had a set of the #880 White fog bulbs by Luminics and today when i removed my bumper i noticed i couldnt remove the bulbs. the bulbs melted the fog housing and basically welded the housing to the bulb. Figured i would give everyone a heads up to check your fog housings if u are using them. water seemed to like to get into the housing also so it took some sealant to close the holes till i either spend like $60 for new fogs or just no longer have fogs.
the only problem i had was that the bulbs went out already... and i had the pure blues.. u should have no problem with melting housing, just from the bulb..
thats what i thought. them being the same wattage as stock.. but there is no other way they would have just melted.. it melted right where the bulb ends inside the housing..
Maybe the water shorted them out?
na, its never done anything other then when i swapped bulbs, then they melted.. im thinking maybe them being higher kelvin they produce more heat since the stock bulbs are like 4500k and these are higher being there pure white. or ultra white i can never remember..
yeah, you are probably right..thanks for the heads up
thnx for the post, i was goin to buy a set in the next couple days, not no more tho....
the headlight bulbs i have no complaints about, just the fog lights have caused a problem.
mine melted the housing too, wack... HID fogs here I come!!!!!
Getting "better built" for the '08...

Had that happen with my last set of fogs...... forget what bulbs they where.
I've seen this happen with stock bulbs though........ guess long drives with the fogs on is a No-No......
