hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows how to seperate the lenses from the housings on 00-02 cavys... i know that to split the headlights open, you can score the seal with a razor or put em in the oven, but i heard that if u put em in the over then it will warp the lenses... and on the corner lights, there is a lip and i can get a razor down to the seal to score it and im afraid that if i put em in the oven, then my new corners will be ruined...
can anyone help me on this one?? anyone know from personal experience??

yeh, ive only seen a few actually get the lenses off without cracking of warping.. i think u just need to put them in for 5-10 min at 200 degree and carefully pry on the edges.. but i have yet to try it. I know Joe Shulte did it on his old black cav, and also yellow22 did it for the other bagged yellow cav he hung out with lol(eric alton or something)
You can buy black corners tho
unless ur painting them a dif color
btw i hate that lip too cuz mine are foggin up and it makes it a bia to put some sealant in and make sure there resealed.. and still look good..
just buy the black headlights and the black corners they would look good on your car if u need pics i have some of them on my car

Oven = Bad.... I tried... I failed... I purchased clear corners for < $20.
Sold 6/30/06.
I cracked like 3 sets of corner lights trying to take mine apart! I ended up using a heat gun to get the glue hot and then took them apart, I cracked a piece off the edge on my final set but they don't look too bad. Might have to try another set in a different color here soon.....

well i already opened up my headlights and made my custom projectors w/halos and they turned out beautifully... check out my myspace if u wanna c pix...
now im tryin an experiment of using projector fog light housings and smaller halos and putting them in the corner lights... i jus need to split the corners w/out ruining them...

Oh heck I don't remember. There was a DIY on here a long time ago and that's what I went with. I only tried one set, but it just melted the front of them. I wasn't too upset really.

does any one think that if i take a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel on it and cut the lip off the housing around the back of the lens that i will have enough room to score the seal with a razor?

I would say just spend the money buying some. Not to expensive from Jason @ aplus.
i like em minus the flat black painted border on the lense. but doesnt that make it almost impossible from someone seeing ur turning from the side? or do u have the sidemarkers? hard to tell in the sig

Yeah manta I have side marker lights thats why I dont care if they cant see the corners from the side. I will test them this week and see what they will look like
Oh and to let you know there is not enough room in the corner lens for halos. I tried it and the lens didnt want to set on flush.

those looks sick as hell man!!! good job!!! but the only thing i dont like is how wide the chrome ring is around the projector lens is... but still looks nice...

i already thot about that...i had josh make me sum custom smaller halos that will fit the projector housings i am using... so i will have a total of 4 halos...

Even with the ones he made smaller wouldnt fit unless I guess you dont do the chrome rings and the projector is smaller it will work but they wouldnt with this setup at all.
Also I put them in at 300 degrees and I cant remember how many times in and out but just take your time and pry slowly all the way around.
yea my housings have tons of room around em... they are like rite at 2" in diameter... and my halos a jus a lil bigger than that...
so did u look at the pix of my headlights on my myspace yet jeremy??
