Basically looking for part numbers or anyone selling the Sport Lip Kit/Bumper for the 2003-2005 Cavaliers, and also looking for any pictures of anyone who's deleted the plastic fill from the stock bumper. More or less this is what I'd like to do to my car in the immediate:
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v736/dracasethaen/LSCavalierValanceFill_Delete.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
But I'll need to get my mits on the LS Lips and one of the bumpers.
Frankly, I think once you delete that front grating bit on the lower front bumper, the car looks 999999x better.
Anyone know where to go to get this stuff around, or have part numbers so I can just pick it up from GM?
Buggar, there's no edit post button on this forum?
It's not a lip, its a one piece bumper. And a few people have done that already, IMO looks bad. But then again, I hate the bumper to begin with so who am I to judge...
" To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous. "
Frankly I like it, as so much as the Bumper with the lip is installed (and for reference, I'm aware that the 03+ cars had the lip moulded into the bumper, hence "Lip Kit + Bumper", I was referring to the lip for the sides and rear valance) but not on the stock (base) bumper.
Also I tend to shy (greatly) away from ricing out domestic vehicles, and aside a few kits (several of which are no longer made, or will no longer be made) that look decent, most of the kits for the Cavalier look worse than what I'm use to seeing on Eclipses and Silvias.
I'm just not a big fan of Japping up a good american car. So I like to trim down the lines and 'enhance' on whats already there.
Still looking for pics of the Front Valance fill deleted out, a photoshop will only tell me so much, also if anyones got one of the LS bumper covers and skirts/rear bumper, let me know, I'll be looking for a while.
~Cheers

Easy tiger. I enjoy Japanese culture in general (hell I'm even in the works of planning a trip out to Hokkaido to do some cultural research on the Ainu), but the 'terror streak' for 'japanese modification' (Ricing, Japping, whatever the hell you want to call it) isn't exactly what you'd call a mission-impossible style secret (Case in point: Full Size Modified Transformer vans GO)
It only applies to American Cars anyhow. Japanese cars can look 'japanese' (don't know how better to describe that, its part of the culture out there); its fine -- they tend to look better with these kind of modifications anyhow. American cars tend to have an entirely different design ethic in how a car goes together, its harder to extract the lines into something that doesn't look like crap.
If calling it "Japping" startled you, I will apologize, but you should also keep in mind hypersensitivity is probably why the middle-east is so @!#$ up
Last: Do you know I'm not asian? 'Japping' was a buddies term for it, and he WAS asian for a fact. So sue me. It's like African Americans calling each other 'Nig' then getting pissed off if someone else so much as utters it.
Double standards can bite me
BTW this thread isn't worth @!#$ now, it got whored up.
My bad, I thought we could ask legitimate questions on these forums
You know what? On second though, I'll retract my statement, you're right Izn, it was bad form.
Haha, sorry, other bitch ass things bothering me atm, probably not the best time to be surfing a forum, so I'll be out for a bit

Agreed.

You want that bumper with out the LS Sport lip kit on it? Look at a base model cavy. and photoshop that grill out.
And to let you know I'll be "nice" to you for only one fact. I NEVER want you to say ANYTHING like that again. You are on the internet with thousands of other people. Some people like that looks (Japanese race cars) and you know what i do! You say the cavalier is American and you don't want to "jap" it out.... LOL to your self! The cavalier, if not mistaken, was first made in Japan (Toyota cavalier ring a bell to you). Also you want to know who that offends. Me and my friends. I have 7 Japanese friends. So dude watch your self and your words!
and for the convos on the forums, ya there are some great convos that allot can learn from them, but when people like your self turn it into racist then it turns like this!

The Cavalier has always been American (well, North America) made....... It was NEVER made in Japan, it was simply SOLD in Japan as a Toyota Model.
Ignorance is bliss.......
