Just curious. If I could find the bumpers and skirts to match my paint it would save me the hassle when it comes time to fix the body panels. Then I wouldn't have to repaint the entire car. I had a friend look at the paint la;st night and he's pretty sure we can touch up the rock chips and respray just where I'm fixing the rust and just buff out the rest of the car. I want to do the Z24 factory kit and if I can find it in factory purple it's one less thing to paint.
No kidding? I've never, ever, and I mean ever, seen a purple Z24. That's why I asked. I see purple RS models and base models with the unpainted bumpers and trim, but never a Z24.
yeah, there was one parked in my dorm parking lot... crappy color for a Z imo

You're entitled to your opinion but with the mental picture I have it just looks right. After looking at countless body kits, the Z24 factory stuff is what I keep coming back to. I thought if I could find a purple Z at the junk yard with decent parts it'd be one - or rather four - less things I'll have to paint. If I can't find what I need and have to paint everything fine but it'd be nice to find everything with decent paint. Who doesn't like to save a buck?
my room mate has a purple z24 front bumper he's going to put on his base model cav. he's gonna paint it black though, but there are purple z24s out there.
i know of 2 purple Zs around here.. then one purple vert that have the full Z kit and spoiler.. but the weird honey comb kinda wheels.. never really stopped enough to look if it says Z24 on the moulding.. but im pretty sure its a Z too..
Go to
Member Search, pick Chevy as manufacturer, body type of coupe, and enter purple as the color and you will see a bunch of Z24's

my car is purple there are pics in my profile
Actually I went to the member search before I ever posted this thread. For my search criteria I entered "Z24" in the "model" field, which seemed the logical thing to do, and filtered by color "purple", which also seemed logical. I left all other fields open but I narrowed it down to listings with pictures only, and as a result I didn't get any hits. I removed Z24 from the "model" field and put it on the "modification" field instead and got a lot of listings, but since it was only after I put Z24 in the modifications field, that left doubt in my mind as to whether the cars listed were actually purple Z24s from the factory.
I tell people to search all the time but let's face it, the search engine isn't perfect. Sometimes you find what you want, sometimes you don't. I used the most obvious criteria but what I found didn't, without a doubt, answer my question. That's why I asked.

Hey no problem man. I wasn't being one of those USE THE SEARCH BUTTON! guys. I actually did the same thing as you did with searching for Z24 first. When nothing came up, I made it more basic. I realize the search function is lacking.

Mine WAS a 97' purple Z24.... Now it is a multicolored Z24 Cavalier with 95' Sunfire GT front end. I have noticed that the Z24 purple is dif. then the basemodel purple/ The basemodel purple is more pastel and the Z24 purple has more matalic to it. My car will EVENTUALLY be back to the factory Z24 purple after I finally get my exterior done the way that I want it.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be defensive or anything. It's cool.
It's been mentioned the Z24 has more of a metallic where the base model color is more pastel. My car is an RS and the pictures I did find look to have the same color as mine. With my car it has a bit of metallic to it when the light hits it just right so I'm thinking it should match pretty well.
Actually, it's called Hawaiian Orchid.

KRI, can you post up some pics of your 'Fire? I looked at your profile and you listed that color for it. I searched Google and the Hawaiian Orchid colors I find are all either darker or lighter, or at least the lighting makes it all look different. One car looked almost black, one was more of a light pastel color, nothing like my Cavalier. And the info I found was that that particular color was on Cavaliers in 95 and 96, mine is a 97.
This is my car:
I've always called it purple or plumb.
