well obviously you have never seen a old school, rat ride or old school low rider..... back in the day all you needed was a primered car and some pin strips and you were set. I never thought euro tail lights, huge wings, and lambo doors.... would be cool but looking around with most of the cars running around... i guess i was wrong

primEr primEr just so you guys know

now onto the subject at hand just get some light grey primer from your local autobody store and mix in your color of choice!

When you ask the Z24 to take you somewhere fast,
it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder,
and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up.

Paint scratches easy, but the primer doesn't as much.

Dont mix paint with primer, its not made to go together, and there and reasons for that.

Should be able to pick up color primer at paint store or at a body shop.

If you plan on painting your car later on, colored primer has not been a susses at our shop and would advise not to use it as the finishing primer.

thats called flat paint
and on rat rods it works because it looks good
on newer vehicles, it just doesnt work imo

an automotive paint store should be able to add a small amount of tint to the primer.

at least when I worked at ACE hardware, we could add a small amount of tint (same stuff we used to tint the regular paint) to primer, but there was a limit to it, which i can't remember of the top of my head.

Automotive paint may be different though, just go to a body shop and ask them.

unless you are using primer sealer you are going to have problems down the road because regular primer does not seal out moisture. The primer will absorb moisture and in time your whole car will have rust, same goes for unpainted bondo(see the 56 gmc in my sig for proof). The old flat customs use flat paint. It is tougher and seals out moisture. Just go down to your local paint shop and talk to them about it. This forum is probably not the best place to get professional paint help. Good luck and be sure to post pictures...sounds like an interesting take on an old style.

so how many pizza's did it take you to deliver each time you had to fix your car after you crashed it?

Re: colored primer?

whoa whoa....dont bash the pizza delivery people here. I make $20 an hour delivering pizza...not bad money for a part time evening job while going to school. I make way better money here than in construction.

And your point would be what???

And we care because....why???

Think that's an accomplishment or something? Are we supposed to be astounded? Have you taken a look around at other people on this site? You know how many rims and paint jobs some people go through? And you know how many people have other daily drivers? (Here's a hint: There are a lot of people on this site that have done that and way more).

BTW, you've told everyone that you deliver pizzas. You've told us the name of the company and the area that you deliver them in. Now you're saying that you DON'T deliver pizzas?? Haha...who cares what you do either way?

no i dont deliver pizza i deliver food from restaurants.. big difference. my average order isnt 25.00 like a pizza boy i guess this will clear up the pizza boy thing. I could do alor more also do i choose to no. Im not gonna dump endless money in my car that ill never get back. i like put enough to keep it looking nice. anyway heres some food for thought. It is alot of money no. For delivering pizza's "yes" Do people have more then that yes. I maybe the highest paid pizza boy around.. its all from working no one in my family died or anything else.lol

i also love how all this has to do with colored primer.lol lock?
