Molding on Driver door

A little help please...2001 Cavy sedan driver door that lovely strip of molding is starting to pull away, probably due to the lovely buffalo winters. Some ideas please to stick it back on. It is color matched to the car. If it was that stupid grey I would have rippedit off. Thanks!!!

as a fellow buffalonian, i'd say either get some new molding tape and redo it totally or remove them completely...you dont want to half-ass it and have it come off in a month or 2. but i think you should take em off...i took mine off and i think it looks a hell of a lot better. no rust problems at all underneath even with these lovely buffalo winters. its up to you though. good luck with it

Taking it off would be ok but I don't want to have to bondo up the holes that are left behind

there are no holes, the mouldings are a solid piece taped to the door.

when u take it off you can just use goe-gone and most of the sticky stuff will come off pretty nice

but your most likly going to rip off some of your paint

fishing line works like a charm...but i would suggest some gloves when you do it, i cut up my hands from pulling too hard just take you time with it and DONT rip them off...use the fishing line all the way and you will have no problems with paint

you can upload pics to www.imageshack.us

but if its a cav, and their are holes, it must have been in some kind of fender bender, because those are definatley not supposed to be there. sounds like someone pull some dents out.

ps - shoot me an email man!!

yeah...that is no good. its actually good that you found those! they could mean bad things if those go unfixed...molding or not. now that i think about it, it could be the reason the molding came off in the first place. good luck with it
