Ok, I'm completely stupid when it comes to headlight bulbs. I have a 2003 Cavalier. I was searching around ebay and i found a bunch of different ones. Is there a certain one that would fit my car, or are some brighter than others.
Examples:
Sylvania Silverstar H7ST bulbs
SYLVANIA SILVERSTAR 9006
SYLVANIA SILVERSTAR 9005.
Another question is, do they make these to replace your fog light bulbs?
Thanks alot and sorry for the ignorance!
go to a store and go by the bulbs look in the little book it should tell you what kind you need...

"In JDM Land the coke truck would have more amber"

Only sunfires have seperate bulbs.
WRONG!!! 95-99 Cavalier have 9005 and 9006
I recommend the Sylvania Cool Blue lights instead. They're not blue. They're a nice bright white, similar to what the PIAA bulbs look like and half the price of the Silverstars.
i have silverstars and i love em...a nice bright white. worth the money imo

Awesome. So 9007 for high and low beam. Does anyone know for sure what the fog lights are on a 2003 cav? And the turn signals? Thanks

I have Silverstars in my Cavalier and I think they are excellent, probably the best bulbs I used in my car to date. Definitely better than the "Xenon" bulbs that I purchased that offered high performance lighting only to under perform in low lit areas or during rainstorms. There a little pricey but they are the right way to go (in my opinion) if you want excellent lighting without going H.I.D.
what about for the 2002 cavalier? I am looking for hyperwhite bulbs for both headlights and fog lights. Sorry to post in this one if im not supposed to, but I hear that certain bulbs can burn out your wires because too many watts in the aftermarket bulbs so I am looking for superbright hyperwhites for headlights and foglights that will fit an 02. Im not sure if they're the same as an 03. thanks
silverstars are bright. imo their the best thing to get before going to hid.
I have them in my 2001 cavalier and absolutely love them. They are great for driving late at night on the country roads, the brights light up everything
I also had the silverstar headlight and foglights, loved them, but had to get the 3000k hid's.....
silverstars, hands down, are the best bulbs you can get without going to a full h.i.d. setup.
i know first hand. i've tried regular sylvanias, the "xtravisions", the cool blue, the crappy hella lights, and about every pair of "hyperwhite" bulbs we carry and the silverstars are by far the best (one of the only perks of working at pep boys). at 38 bucks a pair, the best way to go.
I love this, 2 exact threads at the same time lol
ive heard nothing but good things about them...
Not to thread jack, just wondering while on the subject.. when I finish the headlight conversion and get the 95-99 PRrojectors in...
If the lights arent bright ( like ive heard ) would new 9005/9006 Silverstars help significantly ?

Do you have any night shots of the light output of the cool blue? This would be interesting to see. I have silverstar's but IMO there only really good at night driving down a dark highway or backroad there amazing for light output. In the city you cant really tell the difference.

Any one intrested in a set of the 880 ST hit me up I have a pair of them that I can't use because my factory fog housings melted from the old bulbs that was in them. I'm not going to wasted the money on new housing right now just going to wait on a body kit and get what ever fogs look good in it.
The SilverStars are indeed nice, but since they didnt make them for a 03 sunfire when i changed out my bulbs, i went for the PIAA 4150K H11 X-treme White. These lights are amazing. They work great in the city as well as country, rain or clear night their output is great. They are extremely pricey (the ones that i got had to be imported from japan). Well worth it if you have the money for em. I personally think that they are better than the SilverStars. Ill post up some pics tonight, ill take a camera out with me and shoot off a few pics on my way home.

I tried to get pics years ago when I first put PIAA's in and it just wasn't worth the effort. You can't judge light output from pics.
I'll say this though... when the first PIAA blew (after around 3 years of use... very good lights) I replaced it with a Sylvania Cool Blue light and driving behind a friend of mine, he couldn't tell which was which.
