I'd like to buy a CF hood for my car, but i've heard that you need hood pins from certain people and I've heard you don't need them. which is true and which one is Necessary?

should have them and you
could need them if your hood latch breaks. No one can tell you for certain that your hood won't fly up on the highway one day, so it's really your choice to decide what you want to do.
^^^^^ you don't NEED them...they are recommended to prevent the hood from coming up and hitting your windshield while driving
