Has anyone ever made there own body kit, hood, lib kit, fenders of spoiler? I kind of want to give it a try like start out with a lip kit and if i get the kit to turn out nice then try a small amount of carbonfiber and make a carbonfiber hood. Am i just going insane with a nearly impossible idea or could this actualyl be done?
Its not impossible. It will just take time and some creativity. Good luck with the project.

I put up a thread on how to do it on the 2nd gen forum last week. Look for "custom body kits"
For a hood I would go with a reverse mold, so the exterior is against the mold and the "up" side you work on is the interior. Less filling that way.
Take your time with the mold, and be prepared to get REALLY messy. composites work (especially large pieces) has to about about the worst for ruining shop clothes.

My suggestion is to start small, start with a lip, or even something on the interior. If youve never worked with fiberglass before then start by wraping your interior panels in it or something liek that so you can get used to workign with it. And as far as carbon goes, its an art, very difficult to work with. I am 100% confident in doing work with fiber glass but carbon scars the crap outta me!
so do a lot of research on it before you start, and have fun with it, dont get stressed if it dosent work out right away, you'll get it eventually

As long as you are glassing interior parts......you can make A-piller guage mounts from short pieces of PVC pipe, then glass over them to get a smooth appearance. Lots easier than trying to make a round mold.

i plan on doing this too i just can't make my mind up what to make it look like
well from personal experience, its a lot of work, taking time, planning will save a lot of time afterwards, what we did was used expending foam ( NOT the one in the can ) but eurethane A + B type of foam and shaped it to the necessary shape then fiberglassed that, filled it with filler, made it sooper smooth , painted it, glossed it, and then made a mold from it. It takes quite a bit of resin too, which would be the more expensive then friberglass itself.

I am curently fiberglassing over my sub box (i would be out there now but its raining and not allowed to work in the garage) but i had just a plane MDF box and i raised the sub opening and have the sub "inbeaded" in the box, and i made a ring around the port hole. The was nothing speacial just something for a starters and only have the fabris and one layer of resin on it.
I am going to pan stuff for the back of it were my amp will be, i was thinking about "inbeding" the amp and wires as well, but sence idk when my amp is going to crap out (got it used) so i wil need to be able to pull the amp off the box or atleas be able to remove the wires from the amp. So i was crazy today at school and i made this hiden hindge thing that is do able but will take time to do so witch i have soon. I will be adding the raising parts to seround the amp then making wire boxes go to the bottom of the box were the wires go behind the seat ... idk if any one is fallowing it this if needed i will draw it out.
But anyways... about the body kit/ lip kit, I wasn't panning on anything really complex just a simple one to get the hang of it. So ya, i probly wont use the a-b foam but just some stuff thats at my local arts and crafts store. Trim it to size, and lay some aluminum foil for easy removal. The one thing i dont know what to do is when the part is cured and all and sanded smooth... What do i do in the back? do you fill that with filler? Fiberglass it closed? seal the foam in the fiberglass?
And sence it applies with the exterior ... do you guys think this would be a good starting point for a first time paint? I believe i know how to do it, i can air brush small things. If i get to worried about messing up my bro will be here as well to help me along.
