The wind screwed my door

So its raining right... like pouring out, so i went to kregan because i needed new wiper blades. So on the way home i decided to pull into a gas station to put them on. Well the wind is blowing super hard and i open the door and well lets just say it ripped it open and maxed it out to about 90 degreees, go look at your door and you will see that it WONT go to 90. Now my door, now that i got it shut wont open more then 6 inches, the hinge is probably jacked, and the lock doesnt line upp anymore. oh and dont forget the body damage to the fender.

How hard would it be to take the fender off then the door and line it up if the hinge isnt bent, and if anyone had had this happen how much money are we talking...

@!#$! and im on leave too for only 7 more days, and had appointments to install my header, exhaust, tint, and get new strut mounts... doubt ill be doing any of that now...

id go and get your other mods done, that way you have them, plus you always have the passenger side to get in until its fixed.

the hinges are bent. does the door sag now too?

the fender and door are not hard to remove, but its a good idea to have someone help you with the door. im not sure how the hinges are attached to the door (most likely 6 bolts)

heres a quick how to if you need more info let me know.

first open the door as far as it will go(normal position) in your case you will have to force it open. unhook the power lock/window harness(if applicable). there are 3 bolts for the top hinge and 3 for the bottom hinge. remove 2 from each hinge the get someone to hold the door while you remove the last 2. the door should no be removed. (i might have missed a bolt here its been a while)

next. remove the hood. mark the position of the hinges by tracing around them first (i use a china marker) to make the install easier later on. remove the 4 12mm? bolts from the hood hinge. i like to remove them from the body not the hood itself. put it somewhere safe.

next remove the inner fender liner there are 3 7mm bolts in the wheel well and approx 8 under the bumper cover. they also have those god awful push in clip things holding them on. i just cut them off and buy new ones, usually they get mashed up anyway when you remove them.

remove head light, 2 14mm bolts

you don't need to take the bumper cover off just unbolt the drivers side and let it sit there. there is 3? bolts where the fender and the bumper cover meet (inside fender), remove them. then remove the fender bracket, unbolt it from the fender.

now remove the 3 bolts from the top of the fender, where it meets the hood and the 2 bolts at the bottom(at the pinch welds). there is also2 7mm? bolts between the door hinges remove them too. (if you have skirts you will need to remove it first) and the fender will come right off.

now repair/replace parts. reverse the above steps and your done. just take your time and they will line up.

oh yea, pulling on parts really hard because your pissed off and fed-up and they don't wanna come off, never worked for me, and i screwed up A LOT of parts that way before i learned, my scrapyard guy made a lot of cash off me

guys please add to this if i missed anything.
good luck. hope this helps

I had that happen to my passenger door. The fender got bent to hell....I still havent fixed it from a year ago. For awhile it wouldn't open, but I had someone pry back the fender a little more so it could be used.

Thanks for the sig, Blakout.

well i took it to the shop... the hinges both need to be replaced, the door pillar? needs to be bent back flat, the door may have bending issues that need to be flatened as well. Then the fender is another issue. But for the hinges and hammering the body flat and some paint its going to cost 650! so they bent my fender for free now tho and left me some paint chips so i can get in my car... i think im going ahead with my modz

LMAO you have no clue. They have to replace the hinges, fix the post, a fender and bang the door around some. Is that with paint? I would say that is a damn good price. Parts are not free and neather is labor.
