Ok i have a shaved trunk waiting to go on, prolly next week. Well i have some 2k tails(stock chevy ones) but eventually i would like to get some 2k Toyota Cavalier Taillights, the only thing i would have a problem with is, will the maroon look good on the Manta Green my car is painted. These are just some chops i did using Jay(qwik2k2z24)'s cav. My trunk will be fully shaved, no inner tails, spoiler, lock, or badging.. and i tried to get the silver closest to the shade of manta green as i could.. but it should do good enough for the comparision..
Whatcha guys think would look best? Im kinda leaning towards the flat black but i just want your guy's opinion on em. Thanks
---Stock Maroonish Border---
---Body Color Border---
---Flat Black Border---(would match my 00 black corners and painted headlights)
id have to say black because the less red the better....we dont want a christmas car
its gonna look sweet no matter what. maybe some aftermarket ones would look sweet because its usually the inners that kill those. look around before you make any decisions. like those never 03+ tails....those outters are sweet but i dont think they will fit. car is looking nice.

lmao at "der primered ein"....i just realized it. thats not really the german word for primered is it?

I def dont want a xmas tree.. but i would like to stay away from aftermarket.. and i dont like the circles in the 03+ tails.. not on my car anyway..

"Der Primered Ein"="The Primered One" in german, i was born in germany so i thought i would spice it up instead of just putting The Primered One.

I do like the body color idea.. but i also think it might look like cheaply "moulded" taillights.. also the black prolly looks outta place in teh chop cuz its such a bold black.. but the red i agree.. it will look weird esp since there is 2 different shades of red in one taillight..i rechopped teh black one tho, tried making it look more flat, also added some reflection in it to make it look a lil more realistic..
Thax chris and joe for ur opinions also.
Now i havent made my decision yet so i would still like more opinions from JBO
..
But here is something to keep in mind, When done the car will have 2k cavy black headlights and corners, black mesh in body kit and hood, black tinted windows, gunmetal rims, and also the interior and engine bay will be black and silver/polished.. So keep that in mind, what color do u think would compliment the rest of the car when its done.. I probably shoulda mentioned that in the original but i forgot to add it lmao.
Shoot more opinions! cuz i would like to hear anything someone has to say to help make my decision, also i had one person in AIM tell me i should use the 95-99 toyos but i will tell u why i have chosen the 2k.
-first off teh clear turnsignal will go nicely with the chrome in the headlights
-they look cleaner than the orange(to me neway)
-also i wont have any thing else in orange
-and also i plan to use the turnsignals as teh reverse lights instead of wiring them with the turnsignals..
missed these posts while i was typing up my long arse reply lmao

prolly keep em the original maroon for a bit when i first get em but i still think the 2 different shades of red will look awkward on a green car

would the semi gloss black look better than flat black? reason is, my headlights will be flat black and i bought those black corners which are also flat black.

It is a toss up cause, color matching the car wouldn't look bad nor would the black. either one looks better than the first option. I've seen where they took and color matched the rear and I believe the fronts on a show on speed vision. Where was german, japan, and us designs competing in 3 different phases. I can't think of the name of the show right now. But it was a Volkswagon Mark V Jetta I believe, Chevy Cobalt and skyline.
black, especially if your rims have black in them. I think it'll set them off nice.

Semi-gloss wont be much diff. than the flat black but ive noticed a lot of people looking at flat black and thinking it's primer. I like the semi-gloss better cause it has a little shimmer to it.
my vote goes to 95-99 toyota tails left stock
I like the first pic best.
I personally like the black. Just my .02
Flat black...biatch!

i agree leave them how they are...
if u HAVE to paint them forwutever reason go black.. but i say just leave them, its not gonna look as awkward as u think
I also like them all.
But, if i had to choose, I actually like the black in that chop. Not sure how it would look in person, but I think it looks good there.
