Crooked Magnaflow

This is a pretty dumb thing to do, but I did it. I have the Magnaflow dual canister exhaust, and I installed it myself. I don't know why I didn't notice this when I first installed it, but I think I have the canisters on the wrong side of the car. They mount up fine to the bumper screws, but one of them is kinda turned sideways a little, and when you look under the bumper, the "Magnaflow" label is turned upwards. I'm not at my computer right now, but I'll post pics when I get home. Anyway, how do I fix this? My exhaust has been on for at least 6 months now, and the pipes are stuck together pretty well from the heat. Even when I take the clamps off, the pipes don't budge. SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

Yeah not the first person to do that. There not going to come off the pipe now, afdter you use the clamp you can take it off and leave it off. Not recommended but you can do it and it wont budge. Take it to a shop, they will cut the pipe and reconnect it for you

If you think you have them on the wrong side then just take it off and swap them. You can take them back off as long as they were clamped onto the pipe and not welded on. If you got them welded on then yah you would need to cut them off. If you find it hard to pull off then grab a heat gun and heat up the pipe. It will come off.

I don't have a heat gun, but is there anything else (besides WD-40) that could help me get them off? BTW, they're not welded at all, just really stuck. Thanks.

Take your foot put it on the pipe and grab some golves and yank on the thing while pushing with your foot. If you don't have a heat gun then just turn your car on till the pipe gets warm and go from there. Remember to use gloves. Take the hanger off if you can as well first.

If you can get the muffler off the hanger first or unbolt the hanger then you can twist on the muffler while to try to pull. That also helps to loosen it up.

PB blaster, let it soak for a bit and warm it up with the blue wrench slightly

I have had mechanics who could not get the pipe off after i clamped it down all the way. I drove 30 miles out to one of them up and down hills so i know the pipe was nice and hot when i got it in there....

I'd say take it to a shop so you don't mess them up. Good luck.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
