Hey guys, I just installed a fresh set on PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs for my low beams on my '04 fire. I noticed now after I put the headlights back in that the beams seem to be shooting down the road a little much for low beams, like they really don't focus down to the road, rather they light up the sign down the road. I put everything back in order the same in which is was. Hell I even followed my user manual just to make sure I didn't mess anything up and it never says anything about any adjustments, just bolt 'em back in. So, is it just my imagination since the bulbs are so much brighter than the stocks or are the head lights outta wack. Right now I can see fine at night with no problem and drove by a couple cops with no problems. But I just wanna ease my paranoia. lol
aim your headlights down (you used directions to isntall some lightbulbs?) i would imagine aiming your headlights down would fix that....
HAHA, yea I didn't want to screw anything up so I followed my service manual on changing the low beams, and since they are tucked farther back you need to remove the headlight assembly.
also since the bulbs are brighter they should illuminate more down the road. IZN showed me a few pics of similar bulbs being used and they seem to do almost the same, but I found a tutorial on adjusting your headlights so when I get some time, I'm gunna run though it.
whenever you remove your headlights, you must realign them. there's two star shaped screws on each headlight that moves up and down, and left and right. you can use a small torx bit on the inside or a small socket on the outside to turn that screw. basically, you should align your lights, and when you think you've got them good, go outside and stand about 20 feet in front of your car, and kneel down to where approximately another person would be sitting in their car as oncoming traffic. if you blind yourself, that means your lights are still too high.

Can anyone else verify this? I've changed many headlight bulbs where i have had to remove the headlight itself from the car and not realign them. After all you are not touching the horizontal and vertical setting when u remove the head light.

Ive never had to realign my headlights after removing them...
I have the PIAA bulbs for my lows too and they are so much brighter.
Well I musta threw them out or maybe it was a manufacturing flaw, seeing as how my hood doesn't line up spot on with the nose. I ran through the method of recalibrating my head lights. centerlines, measure ect. and I did find that with the new PIAAS that the beam was about an inch and a half above the legal limit. It is suppose to be 3 below the primary center line but newer cars are 2.1 so you are able to get away with 2 inches. See earlier my light beams focused too far down the road and did not illuminate the road as low beams should. Now that I tweaked them a bit, I found that the road itself was better illuminated and the down road vision was as far as before I tweaked it. All is all it is wayyyyyy better than stock.
