I think I need relays for my HIDs ... I'm getting pretty tired of haven't to wait for my lights to light up, which takes about 5+ seconds. Carbon Cav said you can still get them through the old HID gp, but the thread isn't on the page any more. Can anybody give me a link to where I can get them? Thx for your help!
is 5 secs too long to wait?

i said mine take about 10-15 to come up fully. i figured someone in here would be able to answer his question since i couldnt. maybe jason, jim, karo have some?
Hmmm. mine only take about 1.5 seconds to fully turn on. my relay came with the kit the guy sold me. but it looks like something you can purchase from radio shack. sorry if this does not help you out. good luck with everything!!!

5 seconds is WAY too long when you had your high beams on, then you flip to low beams then its pitch black for about 3-4 seconds while blazing down the road.
sorry, ive never used high beams, and ive been on highways in back counrty with no lights and animals everywhere, i never saw a need for it.
Why are you using high beams anyway? The HID's should be much brighter, I have never felt like I needed something brighter.

umm all you need is a 30amp 12v relay an just make the wireharness so its right off the battery an the headlight switch turns the relay on
yeah you can buy one at any auto or electronics store for anywhere from 2-10 bucks. My 12v 30am relay was 6.59 plus tax from autozone. And if they dont have any, ask for some, they have boxes upon boxes of them in the back.
i dont have high beams anymore. and my HIDs come on in about .2 secs. it seems i may have done something right for once?
you shouldnt be flashing your high beams on and off. you will actually destroy the xenon bulb / put more strain on your headlights wiring harness....
but i think there is something wrong, since the xenonbulb should turn back on. but it wont be fully bright right away. they need to "warm up"

H.I.Ds do not work with DRLs, there is not enough power for the xenons to fire up, all they will do is flicker. Which will get people pissed off at you, and is a magnet for cops.
just do a search on how to disable the DRLS. Its really simple.
My HID's did not come with a relay, just the bulbs and the ballast. I'm having 0 problems with them lighting up. Its the bulbs staying on even though the switch is off thats the problem. Ohh and yes I have disabled my DRLs.
Well, I had my HIDs installed yesterday by a local race shop, but it seems that my passenger HID doesnt turn on when i'm parked. Sometimes it turns on and imediately turns off. The drivers side is fine. Then when I put the car in drive sometime the Passenger HID take about 2 to 5 tries of turning on and off the light switch in order for it to turn on as well. Not sure what this problem is... Can anyone help me out here. Thanks
Sounds like a ballast to me. Did you make sure that they put in fused relays for you? Also have you disabled your DRL's?

you definatly need a relay.
everyone should wire there xenons through a relay.
why risk burning up your wiring harness. when for 40 bucks or so, you can safeguard from this.
How do you ass relays, does the plug and ply system go through the stock relays, can you not upgrade them??
