headlight wiring quesion

Got a question. There are three wires on the plug for the 9007 headlights on the 03+, red, black, green.

Black is ground, obviously. Which is the highbeam and which is the lowbeam wire?

you may have a ground and a negative. no wiring diagrams available online or from dealer?

an easy sol'n would be to get help from a friend and use a multi meter to measure what happens at the end of the harness.

take the bulb out and see if you can meter the individual wires while a buddy flips through your lighting switch. hold the common of the meter to neg of battery. if green shows 12v when he flips on the headlights and red 12v when he flips on the high beams, then you know which is which.

i dont know if the dual filiment bulb (9007) that you have in your headlights has both filiments light up with highbeams or just the single.

dont electricute urself. that would be difficult to do, but anythings possible.

My 00 with the 9007 setup looked like this,

Passenger Light:

Orange - Hot at all times
Pink - Ground for High Beams
Dark Blue - Ground for Low Beam

Driver Light:

Dark Blue - Hot at all times
Pink - Ground for High Beams
Dark Blue - Ground for Low Beams

And I know this is correct because I used this to convert to the 95-99 style headlights and have had no problems yet.

Convert 00+ headlights to 95-99

the head lights have 12v all the time

the head light switch sends a negitive to the bulbs

and i think your looking at the harness that is inside the head light , and not the body harness
