i have been a member of jbi for a while, but i havent written anything. but, i have a question for whoever can help me out. i have searched but, i cant find anything on toyota cavalier taillight wiring. i have been to the toyota cavalier website, and followed those instructions and it works to an extent. the blinkers work and brakes work, however when i hit the brakes both the blinker and brakes light up.
i have checked the wiring and instructions and everything and i cannot get the thing to work. i have checked the directional switch wiring and checked all of them, and i cannot get them to work.
sorry, if this has already been posted, but i need some help asap!
thanks
it sounds like you didn't cut the wire in the steering column

yep, those are the instructions i followed.
in the steering column, i went through and cut and re-connected all of the 4 wires that run from the directional lever. i tried 1 at a time, and nothing changed. it did the same thing. but, i could have screwed up. ill check it out...
there is ONLY 1 brake wire that runs up to the column into the turn siginal switch
IT IS WHITE , AND IN THE END OF THE TOP PLUG
there is 2 plugs that go into the turn siginal switch , 1 goes up and down the other is FLAT , it is at 1 end of the flat connector
probem is solved! thank you 97caviels!
no problem
sorry to yell the key words , lol
