Ok, i have this idea, i know i could do it....if i knew how. I notice how some of you who do custom fiberglass work such as creating boxes for subs or whatever. What do you use to lay the fiberglass on? What i was thinking/hoping is i would create my design out of a foam block....and then fiberglass over it....but the thought just occured to me....foam sucks cuz it tends to melt to pretty much anything....you think once i apply the glue it would singe? What else can i use ?
a lot of people wrap some sort of fabric that soaks resin up good into the shape they want. Let the resin soak into that and then begin the glassing. well that is basically what I have read on here anyways. I haven't gotten around to doing my audio projects yet
Thanks

U need to build some sort of framework to go underneath then stretch fabric over it. I found some mesh material at walmart thats like 50 cents a yard, works @!#$ing great. Then you lay your matting and resin over that. The tighter u get the stretch the less dips and crevices u get making for less use of filler to smooth it out later.

how wide is it? thats a pretty good deal.
yea basically you get what you want assembled (ie the shape of it) then you stretch the fabric over it and pull it tight, then you lay the fiberglass on it and it will soak it up. fleece works good
yea i use fleece...or if there are any old tshirts lying around that will work aswell.
