Hey,
I'm hopefully going to be buying a used razzi body kit for the 03-05 sunfire. The reason I say hopefully is because we can't figure how to get it off his car. It is the kind where it goes on over the stock bumpers and so it is held on with what we THINK is a silicone "glue". Does anyone have any idea on how to get it off or that has taken one off before or that knows what exactly is in the tube you get from razzi to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
-Seth
Is it urethane or fiberglass? I don't recall glue coming with the urethane one, but I may be incorrect.
Saab Turbo Project... 2006
Well it's neither and both. It's aeroflex --- flexes like urethane and fixes like fiberglass.

I haven't bought it yet but it will be about 450.
Anyone have any ideas????

Why dont you just give him your stock bumpers, and he can give you his bumpers. that way you won't have to worry about taking the kit off and risk damaging it. Just switch dude.
big daddy wrote: wow i never heard of that type of plastic, does it say inside the razzi kit?? do you see the code in the bumper???
i say maybe double faced tape or maybe plastic repair material or maybe even panle bond if it is panle bonded good luck with tryin to remove that from plastic
why is it that when it is a plastic body kit that everyone thinks it is polyurathene?? is it coded polyurathene?? and aren`t most rubber kits black on the inside?? here is a test that you can try to determin if it is polyurathene
a polyurathene plastic will sink when placed in a cup of water making it a non-offilen plastic plastic like TPO TPE TEO AND PP will all float because they are offlien type plastic`s
oh one more thing f/b does not flex, why do you think vette`s have stress cracks, nor does SMC=sheet molded compound
FYI guys
It's a special ABS made by razzi and i found out that its silicone adhesive that is on there.

His is red, mines white so we'd both have to pay to get bumpers painted and shipping would be a biotch cause we'd both have to send them.

sorry dude there is no "special abs" plastic
abs plastic is abs plastic nothing special about it
and as far as i know of in the past 15 yrs that i have been fixing cars i have never ever seen a abs plastic bumper
so it is one of the other type`s of plastic that i mentioned before hand

Straight from Razzi's site...
B. Out of what material are the RAZZI® Ground Effects Packages made?
All RAZZI® Ground Effects parts are manufactured using primer gray colored AERO-FLEX®, RAZZI's own specially formulated proprietary ABS composite plastic material. THESE ARE NOT FIBERGLASS PARTS! These are not urethane parts!
C. ABS. What is ABS?
Acrylinitrile Butadiene Styrene, or ABS, is a blend of chemicals which make the special RAZZI kind of plastic. There are many different "grades" of ABS type plastic. RAZZI uses the very best grades, which are then blended together, using RAZZI's secret formula to make AERO-FLEX®. This is the very best material available for the manufacturing of Ground Effects type products. AERO-FLEX® is proprietary to RAZZI.
D. Why does RAZZI® Ground Effects use RAZZI's proprietary, specially formulated AERO-FLEX® thermoset ABS material for their Ground Effects Packages?
The RAZZI® Ground Effects Packages are not soft and rubbery like some Ground Effects Packages that are made out of a urethane plastic (which are very hard to paint and difficult to install). The AERO-FLEX® ABS Ground Effects packages are more rigid like fiberglass but do not crack like fiberglass parts will. Also, parts made out of fiberglass are usually very poor fitting compared to AERO-FLEX® parts, which are commonly referred to as the "best fitting" parts in the Ground Effects industry. Many years ago, RAZZI and Bayer Corporation combined technologies to develop the very best plastic material to use for manufacturing Ground Effects type products; and the proprietary formula for AERO-FLEX® material was the result. Having been upgraded at least four times since it's beginning, the RAZZI AERO-FLEX® material, today still remains the best material for Ground Effects. It is very, very similiar in composition to the "high-tech" plastics being used today to make some parts on vehicles -- like the Saturn. AERO-FLEX® is NOT a "urethane" material and it is NOT a "fiberglass" material. The accurate definition of AERO-FLEX® is that it is a "co-extruded ABS composite plastic" material -- a very "high tech" plastic.
Anyone have any idea on how to get it off??
