Well I found that my unpainted unprimed and unfitted side skirt got cracked just a second ago so I am no longer selling it. Anyway, the crack is only 1/4" long and I'm wondering about how much it would cost to get that fixed. If anyone can give me an idea on how much that would cost to get fixed please let me know.
Thanks,
-Paul
The side skirt is a fiberglass bomex side skirt
go to a shop... get an estimate.
Prices will vary from shop to shop, region to region...
No one's ever asked me in the 5 years I've been in auto body about something like that... so I couldn't tell ya
its only a 1/4" long? do it yourself, it will take like 10 mins
if its cracked make sure and drill the end of the crack
or it will crack again
good point, this way the resin will set in
actually you drill the end of the crack to stop it from cracking
its kinda the same thing when your windshield cracks , if you hit the end of 1 of the cracks , it will crack more , tell it meets up with another crack or the edge
the fiber glass will do the same thing , and once you drill it , it gets rid of the end of the crack so it cant go any where else
true and it also helps the resin to get in and around the crack
the lowest I could find a body shop to do this for me was $350-$400!!!! I dont know how to work with fiberglass or I would do this.
most shops wont even do that around here, they hate doing fiberglass stuff. repairing it PROPERLY takes time...i.e. drilling the end, sanding it down, and reglassing. then refilling, and more sanding. at least a day or two worth of work.
