I have an 03 Cavalier to get rid of the red ugly thing across the trunk I'm just getting a different one that has been shaved but my question is this if I get 2000 tail lights do I need any kind of filler piece to go around the outside tails or will they be able to just fit right in there no problem?
You mean you're gonna use 00 outers and get a trunk w/shaved inners??
Only the lock is shaved sorry should have said that
if your keeping your bumper than no because the 03 rears have the filler pieces molded into the bumper

for 95-02 outers you never need anything more thing the tails themselves. inners are basically the same since the only replacement is the rksport carbon fiber bezel and thats just so you can get rid of the gay looking light bar and don't have to fill in the holes left by it.

Like they said above why shave, you could get an 00 trunk deck and tails and it would like as if you had gotten it shaved ......but if you wanna spend the time thats cool good luck.
I just didn't want the lock on there and i have a friend doing it for me so its all good
