So I payed 120$ to get my windows tinted from a shop ran out of his garage..Looks good except there is like a white bubble looking thing..If i'm correct you are not even supposed to tint the dot matrix in the rear window correct?, As for the bubble looking glob he said that it would go away..Is this true?
Also I still have a concern about the Dot matrix being tinted, What should I do about it?
It may but i doubt it. I had the same thing on my truck and the guy said the same thing but it dident go away. I think it's soap suds left behind.
ok as for the dot matrix, yes it can be tinted. must at our shop we put a strip of vynal on the top, and most bubbles go away, give it a week, and 2 its cold out. if it doesnt go back and have it retinted. 120 crazy, we charge a lil more but offer lifetime warrenty.

Ok
btw I got a lifetime warranty as well
sometimes those bubbles are water thats stuck behind the glass, it should evaporate in about a week. if it doesn't, then yes you have a problem and take it back to him.

yeah what they said. It may go away it may not. Time will tell.. and as for the dot matrix i think most people just have the tint cut off and put black vinyl over it. I still haven't gotten around to puttin vinyl over it but will one day.
Thanks

what will happen if I leave the tint on the dot matrix?
^^ what could go wrong if its on the matrix? im wondering if tint can go over rear defrosters. do you have rear defrost? did it go over it?

Nothing will happen if you leave the tint over the dot matrix. Rear defrosters shouldn't be a problem either. I have had tint over both for over a year now and have gone through a winter and a half of "rear defrosting." If done properly neither one of these should be a concern.
tint can go over the dot matrix and the rear defroster it will no harm a thing. The reason why a lot of people put black vinyl there is to hide any bubbles.
a lot of times when people get tint put over the dot matrix it bubbles up. But like they said if done correctly it shouldnt have a problem. Defrosters don't have an effect on the tint.
Thanks

I had mine tinted for 200 in osage beach mo, by a guy who was way to busy when he did it and F*)(*ed it up royally, the rear window has been bubbled up since he did it at the beginning of the summer, the side windows arent cut right, and the tint looks like crap theres little bubbles and what looks like pin holes and dirt stuck under the tint, to run your hand across it and its bumpy and grainy, the only thing he did right was my front window stripe, sad part is hes already redone it once before, on the side windows. so i guess i'm gonna learn to tint windows on my own and do it right since i've done everything else on my car myself and its all come out just fine.
take it back if it doesnt clear up in a couple days and MAKE THEM fix it.
J~
I had a small bubble that concerned me when my windows were tinted...3-4 days later the tint had shrunk/dried and the bubble was gone...
i seen guys doing grafix on the 53"ft trailers from top to bottom and they got air bubbles and just used the tip of a exacto knife and poke it and went over the bubble with a spreader and it worked out fine. can't you do the same on tint? tint has a glue on the back doesn't it dry up when the water does? i know ya said white stuff is in there too soap maybe? anyone doing this for a living..

poking the hole in tint is a bad idea....
like most everyone else said, if it's water, it should evaporate and be fine. My rear window had lil bubbles in it too over the dot matrix for a week or 2, it's completely gone now, looks perfect.
Had that with mine dissappeared on mine. Did not have the matrix tinted. I opted to get a black Vynly put on it from ou side you can hardly tell there is vynl on there unless you are up close.
$120 is not a bad price here where i live that is about average with warranty on it. I got my car done for $60 with warranty. Guy was just starting his business when he left another shop and tinted my car as long as i told people where i got this work done and handed out his cards.
