well, as some of you know I'm doing a complete write up on clearing the headlights. I know it's been done before, but I'm adding pictures for every step so even the dimmest bulb can do it right lol.

I got so many e-mails about the clear lens that I decided to make some... what do you think?

I am not 100% for sure but I know I was reading about how to Modify an Apple G4 Computer case and its painted clear plastic. You soak the plastic in 91% rubbing Alcohol and the alcohol EATS the paint off leaving the Panels CLEAR. I was just wondering if these were made of clear plastic and then possible painted Orange? Maybe someone that has them can give it a try. I dunno just an idea. I did the computer case mod and it worked NICE!

ok, side marker...old one.


and the new ones, you might not be able to tell but the second one is a bit less clear.



these are just for fitment so the edges are rough and not perfect fits. but you get the idea.

as far as I can tell the plastic on the markers is orange, not just a coating.

Your right, that note above will not work. The circle ones look better than the outside reflector tho.

yeah, I think I'm going to use the same diamond pattern on the sides, I'm just about done with the how-to then I'll work on a more finished looking reflector.

if anyone is wondering what plastic I've been using....

The best is the diamond pattern, it's fairly thick, easy to work with, and stays clear. It's the light panels you use for ceiling flourecent lighting. Use Acrylic..


I also tried to use Styrene, but it's a bit thinner (might be from the pattern) and seems more brittle.


how about clear over orange? - I didn't liek it either lol



I found the easiest way to hold the lens in is not to use the stock mounting holes, but to put it on the middle housing.



using the tabs with this stuf is just a PITA and you won't notice the difference once the housing is together, and less chance of a gap.

lol, I'm driving around with only 1 side done, it's not perfect but it's good enough till I get the projectors.










You can see the bulb more than I thought you'd be able to, if I was going to keep it, I'd get the chromed amber bulbs for the main one

other than the fact that they are ugly. If you want the same thing without spending $200, paint the middle housing chrome and make your own reflectors. Mine is clear, I just didn't want that fake ass chrome in my headlights.
