OK, I've heard a lot of rumors and ideas on the topic, but have we come to a definitive "best" method for removing lenses? I'm looking to remove the lenses on the headlights and taillights of my 05 Cav. I want to get the amber out of the headlights and try something different with the taillights. Lemme know your thoughts (and experiences if you've done it yourself already) so I can get my projects rolling. Thanks!!
put it in the oven....let it sit for a couple minutes....pull it out and use a screwdriver to carefully pry it part.....use gloves cause its hot. sometime takes 2-3 times to do it.
but i have only had luck w/ headlights....not tail lights.
if you wanna keep the lenses in good shape ... 300 for 6-7 minutes ... repeat ..... if you don't care about the lenses 350 for 22 minutes ... comes out like butter

I just did mine a couple of days ago and mine is an 05 just like yours, you don't have to use an oven, just take a long bladed razor and slide it in the crack of the head light and the housing. start at the bottom of the head light and work tward the amber corner with a flat head screw driver. just take your time with it, I didnt have to use an oven at all and mine turned out great! and I just used a black silic one to seal em back up, just make sure you clean all the old resen off them first. Good Luck man, you'll be happy with it.

yea, dont bake the headlights......... the tail lights, yea....... they dont like to come apart.....

I did my headlights this weekend and it took me 2 minuets to get them open with a razor blade and no heat
what are you guys using to reseal the lenses?
03-05 cavies= 4 min @300'. very little heat and pry apart.
00-02 cavies= no heat, just a blade between the lens and housing
95-99 cavies= DREMEL BEHIND THE LENS!!! it sucks, but that is the best way so far for me.

95-02 fires= bake the hell out of them and pull them off. then replace with a clear one!!
if you want to keep the lens, 8 min @350'. pry all the way around. (be careful and good luck!! they will not lood the same when done.)
OK. now i have said this as how i would and do, do it. i am not saying it is the best, nor am i saying it is the only way. i am just saying that this is how i do it. i wish you luck and if you need clear lenses, let me know.
