so i was looking on ebay at a picture of the gm ecotec engine on thier buildbook and i was wondering if they were ever selling the valve cover on thier engine. i like how it looks i wouldnt mind owning one because they look pretty good. is gm selling these from the factory or are they not for sale?
search on here someone put the whole book on here. find it and print it out.

or you can go down to a dealership and see if they have that cataloge that you can take a look in. chances are you can order it straight from the dealership, but it'll probably cost a lot.
Well im pretty sure that valve cover was custom made and cost big bucks. The book will most likely not have any info about it, best thing to do would be to call one of the actual ecotec race teams and find out where to get one from.

if you find it let us know i would be interested too
alright let me make some calls i guess and ill let u all know what i find out.
i have the book and its not in there. i would try calling a dealer and find out if they make it. But if your building up an ecotec that is the book for doing it. it gives you part lists and everything. i just called my friend at the dealership and he is going to look into it for me so i will let you guys know.
you cannot get the piece. they were made for the race teams....not GM. i actually asked one of the GM engineers that was at the NOPI event in Norwalk about getting one. They are very expensive and very custom.
i know they gave 2 or 3 away at the Lordstown, OH J-Body Bash but those are probably the only publicly available ones
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

ok guys, i do believe blackeco incorrectly read the post, what they are giving away for free at sema is the book, NOT the carbon engine cover.....
yea the was refering to the book
The book was free at the bash to, through the dealerships I think it $15
Or you go
HERE and for the cost of paper and a printer cartrage, you can print the book yourself
BTY, it really does not tell you much... Basically:
upto 250 = GM supercharger kit install instructions
250 - 400 = how to Build the lower end
600 - 1400 = How to build the GM Ecotec race engine
Now I too woul like to have that engine cover cover for my sunfire (but with a pontiac Logo) but It's no big thing

DAMN! oh well LOL i should have figured that. LOL i got the book a while ago for 10 bucks so i dont need it. it sure would be nice to get that engine cover though.
umm make one?.....shouldnt be to hard....just take the valvecover off or get an extra one.
make a cover out of fiberglass then lay the carbon fiber over it. it shouldnt be to hard.
i think this would be a good idea for companies to make this piece
hint hint
I wish i could get my hands one one for about 8 hours so i could make a mold of it, then we would have those covers for the masses.
