Ok, so I hear alot of negative things about projectors for 96 style headlights on the cavalier. Alot of people say they are not getting the light they need to see. Is this true? Is there anything I can do if I where to get projectors to help me see other than going all out and getting an HID kit. A guy at work has projector headlights for his Cav and he says he can see fine....but I have yet to see the car at night to tell for myself. So yeah, whats visibility like? Worth it or not? Cheap HID kit that doesn't suck? link please.
without hids their crap. poor visability at night and when it rains, well forget about it
Ok, so what recomendation for HID's could you make then? How difficult are they to setup and install correctly...by correctly I mean so the cutoff is sharp the way it should be and angeled where they should be also. I want to light the road without glaring the oncoming drivers eyes into blindness.
I have HIDs for my low bean projectors and I see just fine, the rain is kinda poor but i still light up street signs and eyeballs from far away. The HID kit took about 10 minutes to install, just a complete replacement, pop out the old halogen build and put in the HID build and hook up the harness to the stock wiring. Done.
And where did you get your HID's from?
Speaking for the Matrix style:
If you get NEW projectors and WITHOUT the Ion Blue lense and you align them good, you should have no problem.
Problem is a lot of the used ones, esp. off ebay, have smuged outsides, or the ion blue lense. And yes they are bretty bad for light output.
But when I owned new projectors, black or chrome housing, and their clear lenses, lilght output was fine.
Also,
The Matrix use 9005 highbeam bulbs anyway fir both. So you'll want to get the harness for it.
Selling mine on ebay though, brand new, had the clear lense cover from RK on them. Selling with the harness.
Very good visibility.
