Rear Bumper Shaving

Quick question..... I've noticed a few Cavalier owners have removed the middle piece between the tails from their trunks leaving only the outer tail light.... Is this a hard process or no for a 03 Cav? I imagine there would be holes in the bumper afterwards b/c the reverse lights are in that piece.... Can someone tell me how to do this? Oh and if you have pics feel free to show them.....

Yeah, I don't want the filler piece.... I just want that shaved look between the two tails.....

you mean somethin' like this

if so then it has nothin' to do w/ the bumper, all you do is take out the inner lights and weld in new metal to cover the inner tails. grind down smooth and then paint. dont fiberglass over it, it will crack and fall out.

Exactly!!! Thanks. That's what I was talking about!! I didn't mean to put bumper in the subject b/c I know that has nothing to do with it..... I'm a virgin to paint & body work so I'll put this mod on the back burner.... It's nice to get some info on it before I try it though!!
