can i just use gm black body paint from canadian tire to paint exterior plastic peices or should i use i certain type of plastic friendly paint????? primer and clear cloat is taken care of im just unsure about the paint because obviously i want it as close to stock body color as possible
yes you can use base coat/clear coat for plastic but here are some helpful tips
if the plastic has a factory primer on the part i suggest scuffing it with a red scuff pad then a grey pad prep it with a wax and grease remover if it is a bumper they do flex seal the part base then clear in a summed up info
now if the part is raw plastic again some helpful info
wash the part with warm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the part if it still feels slick do it one more time ppg has a plastic prep that you use before you apply the adheshion promoter to the part
ppg recomends that you can use a flexable sealer then base the clear on bumpers flexed clear is always a must parts that do not move no need for flexed clear
that pretty much sums it up but i would suggest goin to your local body shop supplier and gettin the material ya need or having it done at a shop
can i haz bondo
