Yellow fogs
Tuesday, October 11, 2005 5:39 PM
Well since I am not going to see much with the fog lights anyway because of the hid's, I figured I would get some of the new yellow bulbs that a couple places have come out with. Anyone have any pics?

i know over at car botique they have displays set up with a bunch of brands of bulbs, you can push the button above the individual light and they come on so you can get a lok at what the actual light output is

there is really a purpose for yellow fogs. Yellow light is actually better in Fog that white light.

^^^^ Those are the same exact ones. The 04 Cavy use 880 bulbs but 893 will fit as well. There a little bit more wattage as well but i haven't had a problem with them at all. I think I've had them since April.

That may be true but my headlights are going to overpower them anyway.

This is why in heavy fog, you reduce your headlight output. Put them on DRL, but with your parking lights and fogs on, yesh.

Someone hasnt read the DMV book in a loooong while.

Just to sound smart, the reason for reducing the headlight output to DRL and mounting fogs low is simply to minimize the reflection of the fog. Light from your HID's is going to make driving in the fog a pain in the a$$. The low mounting point of the fog lights causes the resulting reflections to bounce back over the height of the windsheild. I dont know why all these people who disable their DRL's dont just wire them into the fog's. I know it looks cool to have all your lights lit up at once but crashing your car in the fog isnt exactly going to make you look like a genious. (this isn't directed at anybody in this thread I'm just bored)
