Some HID ?'s more power needed? alignment?
Saturday, October 08, 2005 2:56 AM
well i have my hids.. i noticed a couple things.. when i FIRST turn them on there REALLY bright for like 0.5 sec and then dim down and arent too good.. ive aligned them blah blah.. on the road it looks like to U's like U U with the most light coming from eeach corner of the projector instead of in the middle.. i was wondering if i need to run power straight from the battery or what to do since they turn on really bright then seen to dim a little bit.. do any of you run anything with your hids.. or just plug and play? thanx

The power should be fine most hids take a sec or half sec to get to their operating light output. As far as the "U" it's most likley your actual headlight. I have HID's and do not have a problem what so ever.

the hid's being "bright" is an iilusion, its just the beam adjusting itself after being turned on.

as for the U, its the projector.

Your Projectors/HIDs should look something like this at night:

I need to get a better picture now that i've aligned them.. but you get the idea..

There shouldnt be a U shape, it should be a relatively straight line. Do you have any pictures?

that metal piece blocks off the top half of light. if you remove it, you will have 360 degrees of light shining onto the road, and mainly, into oncoming traffic. that'd be REALLY bad, it'd be like having highs on all the time.
