i had the same problem as you. i found out the best way to get rid of those lines is to take a credit card and CAREFULLY scratch it away. and be patient with it or you will scratch the hell out of your car.

i'm baaaaack!!

god it`s hard to tell but, almost looks like the double faced tape is still on there
but i almost want to say it has been repainted and it`s a tape line
ok try first to clean it off with a wax and grease remover and if that don`t work then i would say wet sand it with 1,000 then 1,500 and then buff it using a wool pad
and 3m`s rubbing compound so you will need a wool pad some guys use foam pads i use a wool pad then a polishing foam pad
give that a try, but if ya never did anything like this before of held a buffer have someone else do it for ya or have them teach you to buff
give that a try

can i haz bondo

i took my side moldings off on my 02' and i had no problems. i just got rid of the gooie stuff, and gave her a nice wax job. (can't tell they were ever there). idk, what to tell u about yours, but it does look like either excess wax(highly doubt it), or excess glue. i don't see it being anything else if the car hasn't been painted before.
