i just got a used BMX(bomex) kit for the car. im sitting with yellow konis and goldline springs. im new to the kitted world and since the front is in the primered stage i put it on to get a NEW feel for the roads and find out were i would scrap.(yes i slow down)
this question might be stupid but im wondering is there anything ones do to prevent the scraping directly on the kit? like on the very bottom of the kit thats under the car no one can really see some type of hard plastic(like the flap in the front under the engine), so that it doesnt actually scrap the kit itself but kinda to protect it for awhile. i know scrapping comes with the territory but just curious. i hope to get air some time next year but meanwhile........
thanks in advance
A Carbon Fiber Splitter maybe?
I dont know much about them, but it sounds like it MIGHT be what you are looking for?
screw in pieces of metal to the bottom of your bumper...ive seen it done alot
w00tburgers-doesnt look like it would but ive never seen them in person so i cant say much. id hate to scrath C/F

any other ideas or ways poeolpe have protected the bottom of the kits? pics would be great too.
thanks in advance,

Contrary to what you think, real carbon fiber is actually extremely strong. If that's not your thing though, you can try a piece of sheetmetal or plexiglass.
hmmm didnt know this. still hate to be scratching C/F up, either way interesting!
is that the purpose of the splitter that w00t pictured?
not sure but i have heard of the splitter being used slightly as a front spoiler to help keep the front of the car down.....but thats only what i heard i have no fact to back it up
the bomex front isnt that big so really you dont need a splitter just hit Dips and speed bumps at an angle and you will be fine. i had bomex for 2 years and its was fine, but now that i have drift i scrub everywhere

when your girl is getting on your last nerve f*#k her dont fight her
ya ive got the angle'n down
i have a cf splitter for my front. the main purpose of a splitter is to increase downforce. as you speed up, the adjustable rods can push or pull the splitter up or down creating more downforce. i use it only to protect my kit thats all. i have pics of it on my car domain site if you wanna see
So yellowrimmedone -so do u have the kiton already??
I demand pics...lol
