Thursday, September 15, 2005 12:04 PM
Ive got 01 cavalier, I just bought a pair of nice projection fog lights for my cavalier, Ive got a few questions if anyone could help me out with? I was wondering how I should go about installing these lights, What precausions do I need to do with the air bag going off, I am needing to drill holes to mount these lights, I just dont want to have the air bags deploy.

Thanks for you info guys.

You should dis-connect the battery before wiring these up anyways,
& that would also make sure the airbags don't deploy.

It shouldn't make any of the airbag deploys unless you drill into the airbag sensor.

True you don't want to drill into the sensors, but also the airbag is a chemical reaction. Cavs have i think 8 cells i the bumpers of the car. Each cell is designed to burst on impact at certain speeds. If you get hit at 10mph you will only burst maybe 3 or 4. You airbag will not deploy until all the cells have burst. So unless you drill through each cell which i highly doubt you will, you should be ok. And yes i would agree on disconnecting the battery first. Have fun and let us know how it works out.
