well i feel like a dick for asking this, but i searched about 20 different things that i could think of to search and couldnt find anything, along with searched the exterior and interior forms and nothing. so here is my question. can you just remove the bolts on the head cover and pull it off to paint it? or is there more to it than that. the car is sitting at the moment and i thought it would be nice to do, but i dont want to dig in more than i can chew... thanks in advance for any help

The valve cover? Yes you can, But remember to tq the bolts back down to proper spec when your done.

AND along with proper torque, you must tighten usin gthe correct sequence (it's in the repair manual)
well i gotta pick one of those up before i do this, i have one but its a bs one. i got it at auto zone, and its like all cars, and doesn't have anything specific to my car, and alot of miss info. newaz i got one more question here... i was looking under the hood today, and i realized that the bolts that are holding on the cover are actually holding the head on as well. thus for the torque. DUH! lol but i am assuming that i need to loosen all the head bolts to pull these correct? i am under the impression if i don't i could/would warp the head.... please fill me in here, i don't want to do more work than nessecary
Are you talking about the IDI cover? It has 4 bolts holding it on? Or am I miss reading that you have a 2.4?
If that is what your talking about all you do is unhook the wire connector for the coil pack (right under the fuel lines on the right end of the motor) then take out the 4 bolts and remove the cover and coil pack.

i apoligize i do have a 2.4. so if i am understanding correctly, for the 2.4 i just pull the 4 bolts, and unplug the connector and remove the cover and coil pack together????
