Hey guys does anyone sell a manual for installing/removing the convertible top on our cars?? Any of you body or glass shops may know this as i have had my top replaced once before so i know there must be a manual or the guys there just have a really good memory. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I got mine off ebay. You might be able to get one from a GM dealer. It's called a Convertible Supplement Service Manual.
Or you might be able to get install instructions here...

When I replaced mine it took me about 7hrs. Wasn't real hard , just time consuming to get everything just right.

Thanks john, im actually only looking to remove it for good so im not to worried about installation
I knew there had top be something, theres alot of stuff to take out dont wanna confuse anything , seems like itd be expensive to fix if i messed it up.

BTW john, did you hand make your tonneau cover yourself or did you have ti professionally made, i was actually considering making one a while ago, but have only recently learned to glass, and even then considered it to be a major feat, but yours has given em new inspiration
Only i dont want to use the factory top, and would ratehr try and make a removable hard top, or possibly targa.

Removable herd top would be pretty cool. The tonneau is just a model (made out of wood an foam) I'm working on (making it myself) then I'll make a temporary mold that I can layup 2-3 good fiberglass parts to play with.

It will be alot of time and work but i think its doable if i make a good mold to work on. I was able to find a manual at books4cars.com if anyone else is looking for one and stumbles on this post, thans again john, good luck with your project, and defenitely should paint it body color when done, not sure what you were considering but thatd be the way to go IMO.
Can you think of any roadsters that have the "humps" behind the seats that i could use for inspiration?? The best example i have found yet has been the 05 porsche carrera GT, but more is better, it seems most just have roll bars or have sails on the sides.
