Your side molding are stuck on with an adhesive tape.

Do you fish? If so, try a 40lb fishing line, so it doesnt break.

Just like flossing, take the string between your fingures, and start at the corner of your trim, and use a sawing motion, back and forth, to cut the trims backing away from the car.

The trim is removed, ALOT of glue will still be stuck to your car.

There are several ways to remove it.

1) Get ALOT of Goo gone, and a crappy credit card type plastic to carefully scrape the glue off.

2) Use your thumbs, in a pushing movement to get the glue off. This way hurts you in the long run, since it will take you a while to get it off.

3) You can heat it up. I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND THIS, YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR PAINT, AND THE GLUE WILL MELT DOWNWARD YOUR DOOR, MAKING MORE OF A MESS.

TIP

** The closer you put the fishing line to your paint, the less glue you will need to remove. and dont worry, it doesnt damge your paint.**

I'm really tempted to remove the moldings on my car. Only problem is I have a SF GT. conv and I know the passenger doors been replaced (or they removed the Sunfire GT emblems) and I'm still unsure about the holes in the stock doors and the supposed "weird ground effects that start half way up my door". Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks in advance.

NOOO!

Some of you should pay better attention and don't give advice if you're not entirely sure. The GT skirts and door skins are held on with plugs, pushed into holes in the side of the car.

Do some searching in the exterior forum. There's pics there of what the car looks like without the sides on.

If you're planning on taking them off, either plan on replacing some with similar ones that cover where they were (such as the RK Sport Streetfire sides) or plan to have the holes filled and most of the car repainted.

The 95-02 GT's and all 03+ Sunfire coupes use the same mounting methods. Plugs through holes in the door, fender, and rear quarter panel.
