i'm thinking of getting them this winter, and getting fabricated some sort of a "X" roll cage
to put inside so that it could re-inforce the structure. Wouldn't that be a solution?
sure but it still doesnt replace the fact that you need to fill the whole inside to make the door work, like glass, locks, handles

What specific laws would be broken if you used these?

What "structure" are you talking about? I only have a piece of bent sheet metal (looks to be about 20ga.and about 3-4 inches wide) that doesn't look like it would stop anything bigger than a baseball. '98 Fire BTW.

If you read on Ben's old site where these were sold....
Doors
you will see this........
"As stated above, these are for RACE ONLY!! This is due to their light weight and
lack of safety supports."

That's nice and all, but what does it have to do with the lack of internal structure on the stock doors that I mentioned??
Well if you read the box on any lights, or lighting devices, or various other aftermarket pieces, almost all state they are for off-road or show use only.
It woulnd't be against the law to have those carbon shells, just not overly safe.
Draggin' That A**
A steel door is designed to resist in the cockpit crushing together, these CF doors will not stop the firewall from reaching the back seats at all(I watched an impact special on cable TV about SUV safety).
If you have a small roll cage in your car these would be perfectly fine for street use, there is no law that says you can't use them, they just aren't safe without different support.
^^ Although, at least up here in a canada, if you have a roll cage, and your insurance company finds out... They drop you instantly. Then have fun tryin to find some insurance after that.
Draggin' That A**
I had a small bolt down cage, i could take it out whenever I wanted only took 10 minutes.
And the lights/lighting issue is a little more complicated, if certain lights don't meet DOT standards they are considered illegal on your vehicle.
ok i guess sayin illegal wasn't what i was tryin to say, just not meant for the street, wouldn't protect you in a crash, internal structure, safety supports, difference??
