I am going to have the sides of my CF invader hood painted to body color just like the one pictured below. I am having trouble getting straight lines because the tape always likes to curve some making one side off a little. A thick tape was suggested which may work but is there something I can buy to make this easier, or a special tape? Please help! (I hope you dont mind me using a pic of your car Silvrdreamld904, thank you.)
are you doing the painting or is someone else? also you dont have to get it perfect w/ one strip of tape. lay down one long strip and if its off a little in some spots, use smaller strips to fill it in
What he said ^^^.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
cut out a huge piee of paper with striaght sides and tape it down over where you arent painting and pint over it that should work if you do it right
"this is only the beginning"
Blue fine line tape from 3m. Used to make pinstripes. Leaves very little edge. That is the tape you use.
Don't pull on the tape alot and it won't curve as much. You pull on it and it will stretch. Causing it to look like it curves in spots.
I just went to autozne today and got some auto tape. i think its made by 3m it is green. it worked pretty good. i eyeball the hood so much now that i dont know if a line is curved a tiny bit or if my eyes are playing tricks on me...
