jim from gravana does not want to make another group purchase thread as one for this item has fallen through before. all of whom are interestet below are some details you need to look over.
hood: will consist of vent with a fuctional duct directing air to airbox or intake. heat extractors at the back of the hood (not seen from above) will also be included but you can opt to not have heat extractors for a lowered cost.
cost:
fiberglass - $550
carbon fiber - $750
no heat extractors - take off $50

ok its kinda pointless to make these posts.... I can tell you guys straight up Added Ssyle Customs has worked it out with Class Glass, I'm sending them my stock hood and they are using it to make the mold the 03+ turbo sport hood..... if Gravana wants a piece of the pie then beat them to it and just get it done..... interest or not it IS coming
by the way I don't mean to come off as an ass or anything, if the product is made people WILL buy it, it may take away before it really takes off but the older the 03-05's get the more people will pick them up for cheap and start modding them, if its made people will buy them, and as I said above Class Glass (I think thats who it was) has already agreed to make them, Rob from added style is gonna come pick up my hood next time hes in the area and send it out to them. Part of the agreement is I get my hood back BEFORE winter hits, so it should be on sale sometime late this year.
Personally I would rather see a JBO surporter like Gravana make it
if class glass, or whomever else is attempting to make this style hood is successeful, i'm still gonna go with gravana. i dug up the old group purchase, so i'll see it to it's end. also i've heard nothing about class glass if that's who's even making it, or how much they'll charge. gravana's got a good price i believe and a reputation to back em up. hope everything works out well with your hood and having it made turbo sport.
they aren't making a one off hood for me, they using my hood to cut up and make it into a turbo sport, it will then be used to make the molds to mass produce the hood. And glass is a reputanle company, alot of the .org with shaved trunks are from class glass, but I agree with you I'd rather Gravana makes it, but what I'm getting it is if there has to be a certain number agreeing to buy it or paying up front or whatever I dought that number will be filled when the hood IS coming out regardless if gravana deciededs they want to make it or not.
i understand it will eventually be made by someone. i'd like to see gravana do it, but i guess we'll see... now that talk of payment and such has come up, people don't seem to be as enthusiastic about having it produced.
please, if anyone is interested in this hood please contact marc or myself so we can get the ball rolling on the hood being made. i'm sure that there are 20 people on this site all together that would like to get this hood made. if anything thing we'll just start to contact all the original people whom had shown interest in it.

Darkstar can you keep us updated? I've priced some carbon fiber hoods from good companies before and not to knock gravana but $750.00 is a little steep. If there is an alternative such as the guys who you are talking about then I just hope they have better pricing.

I just did a search of "Gravana Turbo Sport hood" on Yahoo and I found it. The price is lower than the one qouted before. Is this the actual price? I'm confused
now 450is more like it whats up with the price?

sorry, but i think that link is a little old. they had that on the website back in january or somethin like that. but then they took it off because of lack of interest. now they're just trying to get interest up through the jbo. they also had a pre-order for the carbon fiber around the same time frame for $550 or so. only reason why i remember when it was is because we were starting to pack up our stuff and leaving iraq

So they want to raise interest by raising the price? Hmm... never heard of this marketing idea before. I can see how raising the price by $100.00 will help them sell.

don't worry man, i actually think it is a good point, i mean, the carbon fiber went up $150-200. but good news, i just got the email. $550 for fiberglass, $750 for carbon fiber. the functional ram air is included with all hoods, and if you don't want the heat extractors it's 50 bucks less. so $500 for fiberglass without, $700 for carbon without.
payment option isn't what most people like though, prepay the whole amount. so they'll hold payment until all other payments are recieved, and after that hoods will be made. if this falls through (again) you will get your money back. and one more thing with the prepay, if all orders are complete, and you no longer want the hood, no refunds will be issued, you must sell your prepayed spot, or sell it when you get it. my opinion, everyone prepay at once, then no one's money is held up to long.

SORRY PASS! if it gets sold like normal things do then hit me up, if I don't have a hood by then I'd be down for one. But I've seen some of those poor guys in G.P. have bought stuff and are without the cash or the parts for months and months and months
$ 700.00 + shipping is too much for a part I might get in about a year. Don't mean to sound like a dick but thats just not a good idea.

just wait a minute, i'm emailing the people on the old list. in fact, i emailed everyone that had their email listed last night. i already have 2 replies, and i emailed everyone at about 10:30 central time. it's 9:15 here now. hopefully everyone will get back in on it. and like i said before, we should all pay at about the same time, after we get the 20 people. there were 17 people on the other list, i wasn't one and you weren't one, so if they all still want it that would be 19. and i emailed 2 people who said they were interested, so that could be 21. if we're 1 or 2 short, maybe one of the dealers could buy a couple. actually, that's not a bad idea

That's not good news, that's the same news. Those are the same prices as before. Not that I really care, I'm getting fiberglass anyway and it's only an extra $50, just seems like the people getting the carbon fiber hood are getting screwed...

Unfortunatly, they won't even start working on it until they get at least 20 preorders.
I have been screwed by new products in the past, I just wish places wouldn't offer a product they don't even have yet.
I understand the process in making a mold and all that costs money, but i also understand that me wondering when or if I will ever get my hood is a little more important to me.
There is no mold yet, is there a design yet?
How far into the production stage is this hood(this will at least tell me about how long till I may recieve it.)?
Hell, maybe I will make a prototype and you can just make a mold from it?
I saw one on ebay the other day, forget who made it, came from North East, is it available from anywhere right now?
