shaved doors?
Saturday, July 09, 2005 9:06 AM
I was thinking about shaving the doors on my '01 Z24. I went to a site called autoloc and they have diff sets of channels for each size of solenoid. I was wondering if anyone knew how many channels would be right for my car? Thanks.

Autoloc sux, Ive gone thru 4 solenoids already and just trashed the "brain" and wired everything thru my car alarm so I can use my alarm fob to control the doors.

And make sure to install everything before you even start taking the door handles off. Use the shaved door kit for like a week before you shave, to make sure you have everything wired right. It will save you from future disgust cuz you cant get in the car.

as said above autoloc sux, use spal. I just have a 35lb solenoid. And I only got the driver side with popper.
Thx,
Michael

dude, you should just shave your actual doors....like...the door, not your door HANDLES. I clicked on this topic with so much enthusiasm because i thought some crazy feck wanted to know about shaving his doors so he could get in dukes of hazard style.

That cop took the whole thing way out of context. I mean, I was only going 145 Km/h in that
80 km/h zone because I was drunk and I wanted to get off the roads.

anyway for the question about the 35 or 50lb kit. i would suggest 50. i know its alot but if you live in a place where it gets real cold, the 50lb kit works good. i know some people couldnt get their doors to pop in the winter

I have the 50lbs and I've had mine for over a year now and not one problem, it has worked perfect everytime. I had more hassel when I had door handles haha. Good luck with your car

I've had mine for about 5 months now (SPAL Kit) and it works great. I've only had one problem, but that was a dead battery's fault, not the kit. And it was my understanding that SPAL didn't make a 35# kit anymore and they make a 40# kit in its place. I may be wrong though.
