front fender liners clips

I want to take off 2 of those insertable clips on the fender so that I can put on my mudflaps to protect my body from flying rocks and tar. They are on door side of the fender, how do you take them out without cutting them because if I cut the plastic pieces will bounce around inside the fender?

Thanks

I tell ya it will be hard to pry it out. I have a tool from Snap-on that was made especially for that. But the clip's top are so thin that it will bend, causing it hard to move out.

What I did is what you don't want to do lol. I cut it. Later I would reach under the liner and pull out the remain piece out.
Since I knew I had to cut, I got some extra clips from Discount auto parts for like $2. BTW here is the part #

I'm gonna probably slit holes in the mudflap and just slide it in.
