i remember reading a post not too long ago about painting your mirrors and door handles to match body color. my question is how to go about this. is this something you can do with a spray can/sand paper/clear coat? or is it worth it to take those parts to the body shop and get them sprayed? how much would that cost?

I would take it to a shop. I got my mirrors done for $80 CAD. I didn't do the handles because I was told that they would peal eventually. I am looking to get the new body colored handles from the new Cavalier and just swap them. I'd rather live with black ones for now then have ungly pealed ones.

ehh thats bs. As long as the person doing them sands them down good and preps them good they will be fine. Many people have done it on here and i haven't heard about anyone's pealing.
the dealer also has handles that come on the newER cavaliers that are smooth since most newer cavs got painted handles from the factory.

I painted mine and they are fine.... i'm an auto body tech/painter though and did it professionally... didn't use spray cans
I think chromed door handles would look nice on my yellow 03 sunfire. Is there anywhere that sells them chromed, or would I have to take it somewhere to be coated?
