wondered if anyone has a roof rack on there 3rd gen. I will need to carry a ladder for work, and wondered if there is any product that fits a J body

Why not just get a beat-around-work truck? A little 4-cylinder truck will give you good milage and it is a lot more versitile. Plus you can haul #@!& in it, which makes it a real truck.

Yakima make roof racks.
They both run for about 335 +/- and that is for the rack frame and lock downs only. Anything else (like the bike rack or cargo box) would be extra.
Best bet, go with the recommendations of the collapsible ladder.

i caught the end of an info-mercial for the little giant, they had about 10 or 12 people on it i believe. seems quite sturdy and versitile, but probably not too cheap. still it seems like the best way to go for the application.
we have one of those little giants. its great. its very sturdy. we used it to paint the inside of our house. my ceiling in the family room goes up through the second floor so its a pretty high ceiling. extended the latter all the way and was able to get all the way up top. its a real decent latter
