I have a silver 04 cavalier and plan on getting the windows tinted.
An opportunity came up where I can have them do custom graphics in the window tint itself.
Basically it would be a really dark black background window tint, and a silver style flames or tribal bands in the foreground of the tint. so it'd be basically 2 layers.
I've seen this guy's work before, and he does an outstanding job. that's what inspired me to look into it.
I'll post pics if you guys need reference...

def. post some pics. id have to see an example before i made a decision
yeah a friend of mine works at a local installation place and he's doing my tint like that too...i'm getting flames

then you should take off your hubcaps, put a big APC sticker across your windshield, get solar visors/bug deflectors, and take a Folger's can, cut a hole in it, and use it as an exhaust.
then you'd be cool.
gay. show me one GOOD looking car that has "tribal symbols" or flames in their tint and i'll reconsider. but good luck.
I'm tellin' Uncle Ben!! You stole his RICE!!
"premiere cavalier" coming soon to a street near you!!
Sniff. Smell that? Smells like rice is cooking...

I think you guys may be being just a LITTLE judgmental.
Just because this guy has asked for your opinion doesn't mean you need to be insulting and call him a ricer. It's his car - unless your car is 100% perfection with no flaws and consistently wins national shows, maybe you need to chill a little.
Personally, I would not do this tint thing. But I don't think putting a coffee can on your exhaust is the same thing.

theres a girl on the org.....i believe her name is crystal dot. or something like that. that has it done to her car. you know when she posted pics of her tint you guys werent as judgemental.you praised her for it. i dont think its right to praise her tint just because shes a female. with all due respect, its not my taste either ,but dont blast this guy foby saying that hes being a ricer. everyone strives to be different or natural. some projects dont turn out to be perceived as well. if he decides its what he wanna do....lets all be a family (assuming thats what the org suppose to represnt) and give him ideas of some sort.or if youre gonna criticize be constructive about it. thats all

If your car can pull it off, then go for it - I'm not trying to diss your ride or anything it's just IMO it just doesn't flow with most cars, except maybe a honda
- just post some pics man, maybe it will give me a better idea. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else. ceelobluz24 is right the org is a family

I have done a few of the custom tint jobs, I like them.
As long as you choose complementing colors to do it with. If they are too drastic then it doesn't look right.
You just have to choose the right colors and be kind of conservative with the design also.
it only looks good if the graphics from the side flow into the window and the tint finishs off the graphic

some of the best out there.. yet still tacky most of the time.

I think some of theme look pretty good...
seen this on that site.
do it man. my friend has it and it looks tight
as long as the guy is known for quality work, deffinitly go for it. i think it'll look sweet. i know there is a vinyl product used to make an etched look in glass, i was considering doing something with that (no regular tint behind it) myself, but i realized stuff in my windows would annoy the hell outta me.
the ones I have seen personally look really bad.. My opinion would be if it was a minor difference in the tint so it was hardy seen.. that might be cool
these are from a place in rochester that goes simply by "the tint shop"..... and im gonna say that most of these are very tasteful and far from rice,,,, buy make up your own decisions since these boards seem to stay with an opinion once one is formed.

All those custom tint jobs look like they belong on a low-rider not on custom street car.
I say go for it. It can't hurt to try something different. And don't listen to people on here...everyone is scared to try something different and scared to do anything experimental. Having a car with no graphics can be very boring, why not try something to spice it up? Good Luck.

if its done right and tastefully, it could look extremely awesome! if not, then it'll look like crap. if the guys experienced enough, then it probably will look nice. id go for it, sounds like a good idea to me and could really enhance the look of the car

Check out my build thread!
here is my old car.
some people might say its was a bit much but i liked it
OK, yes, I do have my windows custom tinted, no, everyone did NOT praise me (but a few did, and I don't think they did just because I'm a girl), and no, I don't really care what most people think on here anymore. Pople have practically stock j's, they're experts on everything, and they know everything about what looks good and what don't...yet it never, ever reflects on their own rides. So I don't care.
So many people on here think that there is a certain way that you are supposed to customize your car to look...if EVERYONE did everything that everyone told you to do on this site, everyone would have the same damn car. Which they would then look at and say, "Wow, look how "clean" and "smooth"." and I'd say, damn, look how STOCK....whatever.
If YOU like custom window tint, go for it. If it's done right, it will look awesome.
Most people ASSUME that my window tint was supposed to match my graphics (which won't even be on the car much longer)...but here are some pictures of my newest cav w/custom tint:
And here was the custom tint on my old green cav:
Yeah, I'm a post whore, who cares. LOL
