Grill Mesh - A Different Look

I don't really like the stuff you get at Home Depot, so I did a ton of internet research and finally found a small sheet of perforated aluminum. I actually did this last year, but this is the new, shiny stuff that I reinstalled after the paint job. Took a while to get the fog light holes just right, but I'm happy with the result. My vents and map pockets are lined with the same material (just a little wider pattern) to make the inside match the outside. The aluminum matches the color of my rims and the graphics on the side of the car almost perfectly. Some say not to mesh stock bumpers, but I say why not. Besides, they aren't really that stock any more since I added the body kit. The front emblem is CF - sorry about that glare. It looks like the mesh has a horizontal ripple in it beneath the license plate, but its shadow or something. Trust me, this stuff is so rigid I could barely cut it an inch at a time with tin snips.

Anyway, thanks for looking - please leave feedback.

Steve

Thanks guys.

And it doesn't seem to make the engine bay run any hotter, as I had feared it might.

Man, I don't even remember anymore where I got it. You can find it online by doing a Google search with the words "perforated aluminum". It comes in all kinds of gauges and hole patterns. The problem is finding someone with a small piece. I got quoted like 3 and 4 hundred bucks for a 4x8 sheet that i would never need to use again, plus shipping. I ended up paying 50 or so at the hundredth company I called and begged...
If it comes back to me or if I find the receipt, I'll post it.

I was going to do that to my stock bumper as well. I think the front bumper of the 03-05 Cavy's look badass as is.
