Z24 on Side Moldings
Saturday, June 11, 2005 7:51 PM
I own a 1999 Cavalier Z24 and I have been wanting to fill in the "Z24" on the side moldings for a while. I have seen many cars with it but I am not sure how to go about doing it - I noticed a link for this on TeamForwardMotion.com but it is a broken link. Can anyone tell me where I can get a decal for filling it in or any other method to do this? Thanks.

i dunno if they filled it or they just got side moulding that doesn't have z24 on it, someone correct me if i'm wrong but base model cavies has the same? side molding without the Z24 on it.

i used pinstriping from autozone. 1/8 inch for the small lines and 1/4 inch for the fatter ones and it came out pretty cool. just take your time and make sure you have a sharp razor. its fairly easy but very time consuming. hope this helps

the tape really stands out. Check out the pics in my registry. The one with my car covered by snow. Also look how deep the shine is on the side. In that pic my car hadn't been waxed in over 6 months. I use NuFinish

I bought mine from CE Graphics, actually it was off of ebay (seller's id is: decalz). I paid $9.99 for a pair of red ones. They can do pretty much any color you want and if the auction is for red, just tell them that you want another color. I've purchased three from them and always had excellent service.

I have one more thing to add to this, use an unlined sheet of paper and lay over the Z24 and use a pencil to make a rough outline of the Z24. This will halp you to make the pinstripping about the proper size you need to fill in. I did it on my 98 Z and it looks great.

I e-mailed Vincent from the link above almost a week ago, but I still haven't gotten a response. Anyone know what going on? Is that still his e-mail address? I wish I could get a hold of him cause those decals on that website are awesome... where do I go from now? Thanks.

UPDATE!
Ryan from GrafxWerks is helping me out! He is ordering some side mouldings to find the correct fitment so he will be able to offer those. I'm also sending him some pics and measurements of the z24 3rd brake light so he will be able to create that in different colors. I've been talking to him about some other decals also (the ones from Vincent's page) and he posted some of them of his page, ready to order! It's been a pleasure working with GrafxWerks - they are true businessmen! Make sure that you guys go and check out their site.. they have some pretty new and sweet decals. Thanks to you guys this is getting taken care of! I'll let you know how the rest goes...
