How to make Clear 03+ Sunfire Tails?
Monday, June 06, 2005 3:34 PM
I want to try to make my own clear 03+ tails since none are commercially available so I was wondering if anyone has done this already or would have any suggestions on how to do so?

I was planning to purchase a set of TYC taillights for my car and remove the clear outside piece and replace the red plastic on my stock taillights with it.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

before i even clicked on the thread to view it, i was thinking that getting a set of TYC tails would be the easiest way. that's what i'd do anyway.

Removing the red reflectors from the taillights is illegal, BTW.

why would you buy tyc tails that are like 150 bucks then tear the lense off and put the lenses on your stock tails? that confuses me

I don't like the look of TYC taillights. I just want a nice clean clear taillight.

^^^What he said.

If you're going to go for all show, then I guess that the clear tails would be alright at a car show, but they are illegal as hell on the road. Unless of course, you live in Canada, where unless you're dissing hockey, Tim Hortons, or their beer, you can pretty much get away with everything.

Sorry we don't get away with much over here in Canada. I have had the sunfire for 5 weeks and got 1 speeding ticket 115km/h in an 80km/h he lowered it to 100 so it was $100 and a fine for a plate cover $110 and a warning for red markers thats how easy we have it.
Oh i almost forgot hockey sucks beer stinks and i hate coffee, eh

Um, yeah, I guess so, LOL. But anyways, I'd still advise against it, being that red reflectors are more easily noticed by other drivers.

in the 03 tails the red reflector is on the inside (towards the trunklid) of the tails. If I somehow left this part red while making the rest clear, do you think the cops would have a problem with it?
